Orinda California is an affluent Contra Costa County town located in the heart of the East Bay. Only eighteen miles east of San Francisco, Orinda is out of the fray of the big city but within easy reach, via BART or Highway 24, of San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley to the west, and Lafayette and Walnut Creek on the east.
As one of three cities (Lafayette, Moraga, and Orinda) that make up the area locals refer to as Lamorinda, Orinda is a sophisticatedly rustic community that offers residents a prestigious address, top-notch schools, and all the conveniences of an urban city in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Weather in Orinda is some of the most pleasant in the Bay Area. Its location on the east side of the Berkeley / Oakland Hills helps shelter Orinda from the famous Bay Area fog, giving pleasantly warm days and cool evenings.
Once an area of vacation cottages and summer cabins, Orinda has evolved into a community of exclusive, eclectic homes, some with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
